In this global climate of uncertainty, we want to take an opportunity to say thank you.
We understand the vast majority of people worldwide are somehow affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the people of the Turks & Caicos included. While our country is one that’s heavily sustained by tourism, we believe the health and safety of our population should come first and foremost. As such, the Turks & Caicos Government has closed our airport as of midnight today, March 24, until at least April 14. While our islands are dealing a heavy blow to tourism, we know that ceasing travel is the most responsible choice to make at this point in time.
Of course, this all means that weddings and corporate events we had scheduled for the upcoming weeks will no longer be possible. We understand all the time and effort that goes into planning a destination event, and that the idea of cancelling at the last minute is incredibly stressful. And that’s why we want to remind you: The Turk & Caicos isn’t going anywhere. When all this has passed, we’ll still be here, ready to welcome you back to our islands.
We want to thank all of our clients who have already postponed or rescheduled your event dates. And we encourage those who had planned to visit in the coming weeks and months, whether for a wedding, corporate event or just for a vacation, to do the same if they can. With so much uncertainty surrounding when it will be safe to travel again, hotels in the Turks & Caicos are offering flexibility with rebooking if you choose to come at a later date.
On behalf of all of us at Tropical DMC — and the rest of the Turks & Caicos — we look forward to welcoming you back to the islands as soon as we safely can. In the meantime: Stay safe out there. Wash your hands, and stay home if you can. We’ll see you soon.
