It might not come as a surprise to most that when it comes to weddings, a lot of the planning falls in the bride’s lap. Don’t get us wrong, we’ve met plenty of helpful grooms. But most of the time, it’s the bride taking charge. So it was refreshing to see the roles reversed with Robin and Todd. For our first meeting before the wedding, Todd came prepared with a binder full of of ideas, wedding inspiration pulled from Pinterest, and plenty of questions about his outfit. And on the day of the wedding, Todd couldn’t trust his hair with just anyone—so he flew in his own barber!
After a picture-perfect ceremony on Grace Bay Beach, Pelican Bay Restaurant at Royal West Indies Resort made an idyllic setting for the reception. We filled the pool with tea lights and set a romantic scene with splashes of pink and glittering gold. And in lieu of the traditional wedding cake, the couple opted for cupcakes adorned with pink bougainvillea petals.
Robin and Todd’s impeccable style and taste made them easy to work with, from the floral crowns worn by the flower girls, to Todd and his groomsmen’s sharp-looking suits made by the tailor known for his work on The Sopranos. And the wedding certainly went out with a bang, as Todd surprised everyone with a fabulous firework display on the beach to cap off the night.
Robin and Todd, it was an honor to be part of your wedding day. We wish you many, many happy years together and hope you’ll be back in Turks and Caicos for a vow renewal one day!
