The best kind of business trips are the kind that unexpectedly lead to a destination wedding in the Turks and Caicos.
That was the case for Karlene, who works for an insurance company in Bermuda. She traveled to the Turks and Caicos for work and quickly decided this was the place she wanted to tie the knot with her then-fiance, Jermal. Providenciales (the main island of TCI) was the only island in the Caribbean she’d seen that matched the beauty of her home in Bermuda, Karlene says. And so the planning began, eight months before the two traveled from one island to another to exchange their vows at The Palms, surrounded by an intimate circle of family and friends. Guests traveled from Bermuda, the U.S., and the U.K., with one friend traveling all the way from Hong Kong to partake in their special day.
A little bit of rain called for an indoor ceremony, but the weather cleared just in time for cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres out on the balcony. When it came to the wedding colors, Karlene and Jermal thought outside the box, pulling the ceremony and reception together with bright splashes of show-stopping red, from the groomsmen’s outfits to the floral arrangements and decor. We love how the colors tie in with the poinciana trees in the courtyard of The Palms.
Congratulations, Karlene and Jamal, from our little island to yours!
