As a destination wedding planning company, we get to work with some amazing vendors right here in the Turks and Caicos. And it does indeed take a team to bring all the details of an event together. Case in point: Larry and Nanine’s Turks and Caicos engagement, followed by a series of parties both on and off the island.
As part-time residents of the Turks and Caicos, Larry and Nanine wanted to share the news of their engagement with their island friends. They enlisted Tropical DMC’s help to arrange the details—a simple but fun party catered at their villa with small touches of decor. As avid travelers to Africa, they decided on a theme of “The Hunt is Over,” complete with signage, a matching cake and zebra-striped napkins. And to commemorate their engagement, Larry and Nanine did a photoshoot with Christine Morden of Paradise Photography, who captured some beautiful moments of the couple with their yellow lab, Pride, at their home.
I became fast friends with Nanine and Larry and began planning their wedding here on the island. But plans change, and the couple decided instead to get married in Tanzania, where they had a magical intimate wedding in the Rungwa Game Reserve. That, however, did not stop them from hosting another reception back here in Turks and Caicos, brought together with elegant gold tablecloths, string lighting, a live band and Junkanoo. The only thing missing was Paradise Photography, but their job to document Larry and Nanine’s union wasn’t yet done.
A few weeks later, the happy couple announced they wanted to celebrate one more time—this time, at the Boston Harbor Hotel. They asked me to join as a guest rather than a planner as our business relationship had blossomed into a friendship—and I was more than happy to oblige.
Meanwhile, Christine was asked to join them as their photographer for the day. After their engagement shoot with her, Larry and Nanine couldn’t think of anyone else they’d rather document their Boston celebration.
The result was a weekend filled with fun, laughter and plenty of love. A big thank you goes to Paradise Photography for the incredible photos they took for Larry and Nanine’s celebrations. We at Tropical DMC are so fortunate to be able to work with such talented individuals in the Turks and Caicos every day.
